NC Tutoring's Book Sale at Miramonte High School Raises Over $500 for Educational Equity

2/3/2026

We are thrilled to share that our recent community book sale, held at Miramonte High School in Orinda, California, was a tremendous success. The event generated over $500 in total revenue and more than $200 in profit, funds that will go directly toward our mission of providing free tutoring services to underserved communities.

Who We Are

NC Tutoring is a volunteer-driven organization dedicated to making quality educational support accessible to every student, regardless of their background or circumstances. We provide free tutoring services to students from underserved communities who may not otherwise have access to the academic resources they need. Through the hard work of our volunteers, we work to bridge educational gaps and create equitable learning opportunities for students from all walks of life.

The Book Sale

Every dollar raised through this event strengthens our ability to reach more students and expand our outreach efforts. Educational inequity is a real and pressing challenge, and events like this one move us closer to a future where every student has the support they need to succeed.

Jasper Sun ’26, who attended the event, put it best:

“I found a couple of books I’d been meaning to read for a while, and they were way cheaper than anywhere else. It’s cool knowing [NC Tutoring] also supports tutoring for other students.”

What This Means for Our Mission

The event drew enthusiastic support from the Miramonte High School community, with students, families, and local residents browsing a wide selection of books at affordable prices. The turnout was a powerful reminder that when a community comes together around a shared cause, meaningful things happen.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who attended, donated books, and volunteered their time to make this event possible. Your support is what drives our work forward.
